Business licences
Certain businesses in Riverton need a licence from the Town before they open, under the Business Licensing By-law 2024-38.
Who needs a licence
- Food premises, food trucks and refreshment vehicles
- Short-term rental accommodations
- Taxis, limousines and ride-share drivers
- Second-hand goods and pawn shops
- Personal services: tattoo, piercing, aesthetics and body art
- Transient traders and seasonal vendors
How to apply
Complete an application and submit it with the licence fee and the required documents, such as a health inspection report, fire inspection or proof of insurance. Most applications are reviewed within ten business days.
Licences expire on December 31 each year. Renewal notices are emailed in November.
