Property taxes
Property taxes pay for roads, fire protection, parks, recreation, the library and the other services the Town provides.
2026 due dates

A penalty of 1.25 per cent is added on the first day of default and on the first day of each month after that.
Ways to pay
- Online or telephone banking: add “Town of Riverton – Taxes” as a payee and use your 19-digit roll number.
- Pre-authorized payment: monthly or on each due date. Enrol by the 15th of the month before your first withdrawal.
- In person at Town Hall by debit, cheque or cash, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- By mail or the drop box at the front entrance of Town Hall. Post-dated cheques are accepted.
Moved or bought a home?
Tax bills are mailed to the owner on record. If you have recently purchased a property, contact the tax office to confirm your mailing address.
