At its September 22 meeting, Council approved the detailed design for a 2.4 km extension of the Riverwalk trail from Bridge Street to Mill Falls Conservation Area.
“This connects our downtown to one of the most beautiful places in the region,” said Mayor Helen Marchetti. “It is the project residents asked for most often in the parks master plan consultation.”
The extension is fully accessible and includes two rest areas, interpretive signage developed with Algonquin Anishinaabe knowledge keepers, and a new pedestrian bridge over Cedar Creek.
