Phase two of the Water Street reconstruction begins on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Crews will replace the watermain, sanitary sewer and road surface between Mill Street and Bridge Street.
Every business on the block will remain open throughout construction. Sidewalk access will be maintained at all times, and temporary parking is available at the Millrace Square lot at no charge.
Through traffic will be detoured along Queen Street. Riverton Transit Route 2 will use the Queen Street stops for the duration of the work.
The project is funded in part through the Canada Community-Building Fund and is expected to be complete by the end of November, weather permitting.
