Garbage, recycling and green bin
Curbside collection is every week for green bin and recycling, and every other week for garbage.
Collection days

Place items at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day, and no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before.
Thanksgiving week
Collection will be one day late during the week of October 12. Friday collection moves to Saturday, October 17.
Limits
- Two bags or cans of garbage every other week. Additional bags need a $3 bag tag, sold at Town Hall and local retailers.
- No limit on blue box recycling or green bin organics.
- Leaf and yard waste is collected October 20 to November 27 in paper bags only.
Riverton Transfer Station
220 Concession Road 4. Open Wednesday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bulky items, scrap metal, electronics and brush are accepted. Fees apply.
